Supply teacher specialist ITN Mark launches new charity drive with Barnardo’s

27/08/2008

ITN Mark, the specialist education recruiter has launched a major new initiative to raise money for children’s charity, Barnardo’s.

Under the terms of the agreement, ITN Mark will make a donation to the charity for every day worked by one of its supply teachers across the UK. ITN Mark consultants and directors will also help to supplement the drive by volunteering to act as teaching assistants for a day in selected schools, working in Barnardo’s stores and many other local and national fund raising initiatives. The project is expected to raise over £30,000 in its first year alone.

“ITN Mark has grown rapidly in recent years to the point where it is now arguably one of the leading suppliers of both permanent and supply teachers from both the UK and overseas teacher workforces to UK schools,” says the company’s managing director, Eddie Austin. “We wanted to mark our success by ‘giving something back’ and because of our day-to-day involvement with the development of young people, it seemed logical to partner with the country’s foremost children’s charity.”

“Working with ITN Mark Education gives us a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of our vital work with disadvantaged children and young people, which is why we’re delighted to enter into this exciting partnership that will actively engage ITN Mark Education’s staff in fundraising and volunteering on a nationwide scale,” says Tom Warman, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Barnardo’s.
